Position: Intermediate - Senior Fire Safety Engineer
Location: Sydney
Employment Type: Full-time, hybrid work model (office-based with flexible WFH options)
Package: AUD 120k - 150k as a base salary based on experience, and performance-based bonuses
Role Overview: This role will focus on supporting fire safety design and project delivery, working closely with the Sydney team.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in both performance-based and prescriptive fire safety design and have strong technical and client engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Fire Safety Engineering:
Understand trends and best practices in the fire safety engineering discipline.
Prepare fire safety calculations and coordinate the delivery of fire safety engineering reports.
Develop and implement fire safety designs using both prescriptive and performance-based methods.
Conduct site inspections and provide technical advice to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Project Management:
Manage small to medium-sized projects, overseeing all aspects from initial proposals to client management.
Coordinate project timelines and deliverables, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
Contribute to business development activities through both direct (i.e.
targeted) and indirect (i.e.
delivery of existing projects and relationship building) efforts.
Technical Support & Mentorship:
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, supporting their professional growth and development.
Act as a technical leader within the team, ensuring adherence to best practices in fire safety design.
Client Relations:
Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and ensuring project requirements are met.
Attend design meetings (office and site based) and communicate with clients to establish their needs and design aspects with them.
Participate in client meetings, addressing compliance issues and offering tailored fire safety solutions.
Qualifications Required:
Experience: 3-5 years in fire safety engineering, with a strong understanding of local and national building codes.
Proficiency in fire safety software and modelling tools.
Strong project management and client engagement skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
