Interim Chief Executive Officer

Details of the offer

Hervey Bay, Hervey Bay & Fraser Coast QLD
About the organisation
Our client is a well-respected, growing and values driven, privately owned Registered Training Organisation (RTO), registered NDIS provider, and an independent franchisee in community Aged Care. Established in 2005 and with a Head Office in Hervey Bay, the organisation provides nationally recognised courses and non-accredited health workshops across the community services sector.
With a mission to deliver high-quality, client-focused services that enhance the well-being of individuals in the community, our client is a leading local provider and known for its commitment to excellence and innovation in service delivery.
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Director, the Interim CEO will lead and manage the organisation's strategic and operational functions, ensuring that all programs, including NDIS, Aged Care, and RTO services, align with the organisation's vision and strategic objectives, and are compliant with relevant legislation.
The role includes enhancing organisational performance and ensuring sustainable growth through effective strategic planning and execution. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the organisation through its next phase of development, whilst maintaining its reputation for excellence, and being seen as a thought leader in community services.
Ideally, the role will be based in Hervey Bay, but there is flexibility to be located at the Sunshine Coast site in Maroochydore with regular travel to Hervey Bay. The successful candidate will also be required to travel to Bundaberg. As there is a strong sense of community within the Executive Team, a fully remote role would not fit with the culture of the business.
This is an interim appointment for a six-month period and the remuneration offered will be commensurate with experience.
Duties will include: Assist with the development of the 2025 strategic plan to ensure alignment with the organisation's vision, mission, and values. Execute the current strategic plan and deliver on agreed strategic objectives. Oversee the implementation and roll out of new systems including a Customer Management System and a new payroll system. Explore and manage new or expanded services to capitalise on growth opportunities, such as the opening of a new site, and the roll out of new on-line short courses. Oversee the operational performance of all programs, including NDIS services, Aged Care, and RTO activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, funding agreements, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks. Manage regulatory reporting, including monthly reporting to the NDIS Commission and Department of Communities, Disability Services, and Seniors (DCDSS), and reporting of data breaches or suspected breaches. Oversee financial management, budgeting, performance, and reporting to ensure the organisation's financial viability. Provide leadership and support to executive officers and staff, fostering a positive work culture. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government bodies, funding agencies, community partners, and clients. Represent the organisation at external events and forums. Oversee governance functions relating to key corporate policies, including corporate governance, risk management, and financial reporting. Communicate in a timely manner with the Directors on important matters affecting the organisation. The successful candidate will have: Tertiary qualification in Disability, Health, Social/Behavioural Sciences, Business Management, or a related field, or an equivalent vocational qualification. A proven track record in an executive role within the Human Services or Training sectors. People management experience with the ability to coach, develop and inspire others as a consultative leader. Extensive understanding of business processes, strategic development, and operational management in the community services industry. NDIS and / or VET sector knowledge will be highly regarded. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Highly developed negotiating and influencing skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders. Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), Yellow Card/National Worker Screening, and a Police Check. Willing to undertake a Criminal History Check. Valid Driver's Licence.
