This role is responsible for being the technical product expert for overall end-to-end data flow and architecture for accountable features within the ResMed eco-system from a device perspective whilst ensuring that the system comes together in the most optimal manner to meet the needs of the market and the patient, with a sufficient forward-thinking approach.
This role requires working with other teams across multiple departments within ResMed as well as external vendors. It requires awareness of the market we operate in, emerging technologies relevant to us, and the best practices to incorporate them into our products and processes.
The role is best suited to an adaptive learner, a curious mind, and a natural big picture thinker, who can bring diverse groups together to work towards a common goal.

Software, electrical, mechanical, cloud solutions, manufacturing, UXMarketing / Product ManagementIoT, MyAir, AirView, GDPInformation Security, Information TechnologyExternal vendorsLet's talk about Responsibilities:Being the technical product expert for overall end-to-end data flow and architecture.Specification of the end-to-end data flow, including providing criteria for system acceptance for the ResMed V&V team and external vendors.Ensuring that technical artefacts are consistent with customer and corporate expectations for safety, performance, functionality, reliability, and efficacy.Evaluating technical design alternatives, to achieve desired functionality, in consultation and cooperation with sub-system technical leads/experts, and other stakeholders as applicable.Ensuring that ResMed Product Development Processes are adhered to and recommending process improvements as appropriate.Having awareness of the latest cybersecurity standards and making sure that the ResMed eco-systems are state of the art.Ensuring technical artefacts are delivered in a timely manner.Providing clarity and communication on desired System Level deliverables to the responsible parties.Organising delivery of Systems artefacts including interface and data documentation.Identifying early indicators of technical issues.Analysing problem areas and providing direction for resolution.Helping plan the Over the Air upgrades to provide additional functionality for customers and patients.Let's talk about Position Specific Skills and Challenges:Breadth of technical expertise and product knowledge.Being across all aspects of the end-to-end data flow.Maintaining a broad knowledge of company products, competitors, and customer's and patient's needs.Understanding Software Architecture and Design principles.Managing the expectations and involvement of multiple stakeholders and teams with a range of needs.Aligning team planning and decision making with the different business units and product teams.Facilitating design and implementation discussions with multiple stakeholders and teams, including external vendors.Proactively engaging other stakeholders/domain leads when their domain is expected to be impacted.Articulating how one area/product/team may affect another.Articulating the impact of design and decisions, both short term and long term.Engaging in constructive conflict as appropriate during the decision-making process.Discerning the extent to which to delve into technical and non-technical details, and when to step out to provide a high-level perspective.Proactively finding information as opposed to waiting for information.Finding the right group of stakeholders to involve in discussion, decision-making or implementation.Providing information to the right level of granularity and level, for each audience.Collaborating to gather information, and deciding clearly when that's sufficiently complete.Let's talk about Qualifications and ExperienceMinimum: Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering or Mechatronics OR Bachelor of Science (in Biophysics for example) OR equivalent degree.Proficiency in Software Development Process.Proficiency in agile development processes and practices.Excellent written and verbal communication and documentation skills.Preferred: Postgraduate qualification in Biomedical Engineering.3 years+ experience in a New Product Development environment including hardware development.Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.Joining us is more than saying "yes" to making the world a healthier place.
