Requirements
Interaction Design Experts manage the development of design concepts for digital products and services. They can interpret evidence-based research and incorporate this into their work ensuring the quality of design.
Interaction Design Experts exercise a considerable degree of independence and undertake a leadership role, with work being performed under the broad direction of senior staff. They manage detailed projects or programs and develop and manage
relationships with stakeholders. In performing a leadership role, they develop future direction and strategies to drive innovation and changes in workplace practices.
Key duties may include, but are not limited to: lead projects through strategy, iterations and development by inspiring process, and direction of project work and apply user centred design/user experience design (UX) methodology to deliver enterprise outcomes and improvements to stakeholder and user lead and advocate for user research throughout the apply qualitative and quantitative user research to understand and define current and future user needs, behaviours and plan and scope projects, according to user needs, business needs and design lead creation/updates to relevant UI design patterns, frameworks and governance (including application of branding) lead the design of assets such as user flows, prototypes, wireframes and other assets for proof of concept and usability lead staff undertaking rapid and iterative prototyping using agency prototyping tools. lead staff organising, undertaking and reporting on usability testing and validation of designs with develop relevant design detail requirements and documentation for stakeholder review and technical implementation to ensure successful delivery of the project. interact professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders including executives, managers and subject matter collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives. lead workshops, discussions and facilitate the design of the service through collaboration with other lead and ensure the continual enhancement of plan and lead the evaluation of solutions, to ensure stakeholder and agency requirements have been lead and manage staff including overseeing the management of performance, attendance, and health and support and mentor staff including coaching and training to build knowledge and capability in interaction design exercise appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and Primary Knowledge/Skills/Systems/Tools required for role include: User experience design (UX). Working arrangements
The work is to be performed at department premises in Canberra. The services are to be performed at the preferred location of Canberra, but the following locations may also be considered Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Candidate Selection criteria Mandatory Criteria Greater than 3 years' UX experience in leading the design of assets such as user flows, prototypes, wireframes, and other assets for proof of concept and useability Greater than 3 years' experience in the creation/updates and management of relevant UI design patterns, frameworks, GUI kits and governance (including application of branding). Greater than 3 years' experience in supporting and mentoring staff including coaching and training to build knowledge and capability in interaction design Weighted Criteria Demonstrated knowledge and experience in using UX research processes and Demonstrated experience in creating, conducting, and delivering high-profile research findings or designs to a range of Ability to work with web design toolsets such as Adobe XD, Adobe suite and Demonstrated experience with the Australian Government's Digital Service Standard, WCAG AA compliance or website government Demonstrated examples of using a variety of prototyping methods, including an understanding of the most appropriate prototyping method for the problem to be solved Experience working collaboratively as part of a multi- disciplinary team, including with user researchers, developers, and non-technical Demonstrated ability to iterate design products and design approaches based on user research and team
