Intensive Case Manager – Youth (Darwin)

At NAAJA, we provide vital legal assistance and justice services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in communities throughout the Northern Territory. Our dedicated team drive positive change with a commitment to quality representation and advocacy in the justice system.
Salary packaging options up to $18,450 per annum tax free (conditions apply)Remote allowance of $3,300 per annum (if applicable)Annual airfare allowance6 weeks annual leave3 weeks personal leaveAbout the role As an Intensive Case Manager – Adult or Youth, you will provide culturally safe, client-centred and trauma-informed intensive case management support to clients. You will work closely with Aboriginal clients leaving youth detention to address their complex needs and support their rehabilitation and social reintegration, to reconnect with their culture, family and communities to break the cycle of offending.
NAAJA's Throughcare Programs (Throughcare) is a voluntary holistic journey of strengths-based, intensive case management and support for Aboriginal people to reintegrate to the community and reduce risk of recidivism following their release from prison across the NT.
What you'll be doing Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify clients' needs and develop customised case plansCoordinating and facilitating access to a range of therapeutic, social, and practical support servicesAdvocating on behalf of clients to ensure they receive the appropriate level of assistanceMaintaining detailed case records and reporting on client progressCollaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver client-centred, holistic supportParticipating in regular supervision and professional development activitiesWhat we're looking for Demonstrated experience in case managementExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with Aboriginal clientsStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesFamiliarity with the youth and criminal justice system, local community services landscape and ability to navigate complex systemsCultural awareness and sensitivity in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clientsThe ability to speak an Aboriginal language and/or a degree in social work or related field would be desirableRequirements Right to work in Australia with no restrictionsValid NT Drivers LicenceSatisfactory national criminal history checkAbility to obtain a working with children clearance (Ochre Card)A willingness to travel to remote communities and bush courtsIf you're excited about this opportunity, we encourage you to apply now!
