As the Intelligence Advisor, you will develop, coordinate, and supervise the correctional centre's intelligence collection plan whilst providing the General Manager with timely intelligence to reduce risk and support decision-making.
In the Intelligence Advisor role, you will:Develop intelligence plan including collection plan and operational actions plan.Provide the management team with timely and professional advice on issues concerning intelligence systems, procedures, and issues as they relate to a correctional environment.Identify and report on emerging trends to the management team from a strategic point of view as they relate to a correctional environment.Provide high-level briefings to the management team on matters which affect the security and good order of the centre.Develop and plan specific operations within the correctional environment.Record analysis in QCS Intelligence System.Develop operational and tactical hypotheses regarding security risk issues within the correctional centre.Use endorsed QCSIG methodology, including office automation software and dedicated intelligence software such as Analyst Notebook.Liaise with the General Manager, QCS Intelligence Group in Central Office as well as external security agencies on behalf of the General Manager.Share outcomes of the intelligence process using the QCS Intelligence system.Undertake Escape Risk Assessments.Undertake assessments designed to inform placement decisions in endorsed and accepted formats including oral and written intelligence products and in accordance with QCS dissemination of information procedures.Consult a wide range of stakeholders to conduct intelligence assessments and brief various elements of management and senior management on issues relating to security and intelligence.Compile Intelligence assessments at both a strategic and tactical Intelligence level.Prepare and present Intelligence Reports.Provide support to members of social and criminal justice partner organisations.Facilitate team meetings and other activities within the unit.Maintain high-level knowledge of contemporary practices.Contribute to the knowledge base of the team.Ensure the safety and security of self and others.Manage the security and confidentiality of records and information.Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.
