This newly created opportunity will see you join an experienced team of IP Lawyers at Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick Lawyers.You will be providing services in the transactional IP area, reporting to the Special Counsel, Transactional, for the provision of all transactional advice and documentation relating to intellectual property matters. Your work will focus on advising on and drafting various types of agreements that deal with intellectual property rights, including trade marks, designs, patents, copyright, and plant breeders' rights.Our clients are involved in the creation and exploitation of valuable intellectual property rights, and the services in the transactional IP area are of significant assistance to them as they look to commercialise their IP.This position is flexible, offering the opportunity to work either part-time (3 or 4 days a week) or full-time.Key areas of work and responsibilities of the role include:Providing timely and accurate advice to clients in relation to the protection and commercialisation of intellectual property rights.Providing advice on confidential information and drafting confidentiality agreements, particularly as they relate to the protection of intellectual property rights.Contributing to the marketing and business development of the commercial function.Drafting, negotiating, and advising on various agreements related to the development and commercialisation of intellectual property, including but not limited to IP licences, assignments, manufacturing/distribution agreements, and sale/purchase of IP agreements.Preparing documentation acceptable to IP Australia, as well as related IP work such as IP due diligence and some Australian Consumer Law advice.You will have…A minimum of 3 years' experience in intellectual property, technology, or general commercial contracts.Exposure and knowledge of contract, commercial, and intellectual property law.Experience in intellectual property transactions is desirable.A desire for challenging and interesting work and to help others commercialise their intellectual property.An ability to work in a collaborative environment with our IP litigators and the patent and trademarks attorneys.Experience in stakeholder management and client relationship skills is desirable.Enthusiasm for all things intellectual property.If you are a motivated, enthusiastic lawyer seeking an opportunity to provide a broad range of IP transactional services and grow a transactional IP practice, we would like to hear from you.About usPhillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick (POF) is a privately owned patent and trademark attorney firm with 100+ people across offices in Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide.
