About the role
As an intake case worker in our Supporting Recovery Local Care Team (LCT), you will be the first point of contact to clients who have experienced Family & Domestic Violence and childhood Sexual assault and referrers. Working in a multidisciplinary team, you will undertake an initial assessment; provide high quality case management and referral pathways. You will have an in-depth understanding of domestic & family violence and relevant legislation providing outstanding service to our clients in a positive, respectful and culturally sensitive way.
Duties
Provide intake assessment to survivors of Family & Domestic Violence and Childhood Sexual Assault and support an integrated intake service for the wider Centre for Women's, Children & Family Health as required.Engage clients using appropriate strengths-based assessments to ensure eligibility criteria is met.Maintain database of referral pathways for clients who may not meet eligibility criteria.Review Supporting Recovery LCT email daily to check for new referrals.Complete intake referral form for clients who present at the centre.Ensure referrals are forwarded to Supporting Recovery LCT within time frames for allocation.Hold a caseload of clients waiting to be allocated to Supporting Recovery LCT Case worker.Represent the organisation at Inter-agency meetings and or events.Skills and Requirements
You will hold qualifications in Social Work, Social Science or related discipline with:
At least 2 years case management experience ideally working with people who have experienced trauma.Experience supporting families affected by trauma, domestic violence, childhood sexual assault, mental health.An understanding of trauma-informed practice and a goal focused approach with the ability to work with clients through all stages of engagement.A clear understanding of child protection issues and mandatory reporting responsibilities.Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.Excellent time management and organising skills to balance competing demands.Excellent written skills in relation to note taking and record keeping.Experience using electronic databases.Experience with the Safe & Together model is advantageous.If you identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, then we want to hear from you.
