The Kingaroy Medicare Mental Health Centre (formally known as Head to Health), funded by Darling Downs and West Morton PHN, offers inclusive, low-stigma access points for mental health services, providing assessment, triage, warm referrals, and immediate support.
It caters to individuals at various levels of need, including those in crisis, fostering an innovative, agile, and flexible approach to service delivery.
The opportunity: The position of Intake & Assessment Officer is currently open at our Kingaroy centre.
This is a full-time, permanent position.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include engaging, screening, assessing, and referring clients.
This role will serve as a crucial initial point of contact for individuals accessing our services, with the aim of building positive rapport with a diverse range of consumers as well as their families and friends to deliver holistic recovery oriented care.
Reporting to the Clinical Lead, you will work with a group of committed clinical and operational staff to develop and promote the reputation of Kingaroy Medicare Mental Health Centre within the local and wider community.

Tertiary level qualifications in health, behavioural/social sciences, community services, or a related discipline and/or extensive experience in the mental health sector.Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment, coordinating client care.Experience in the mental health sector and a broad understanding of the challenges and experiences of people managing their mental health, fostering a recovery and strength-based approach.Knowledge and understanding of mental health, including related evidence-based interventions and clinical practice.Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a diverse range of clients, colleagues, and partner organisations.If this sounds like you this is what you will need to get started: Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to hold one.Undergo a current and satisfactory Police Check.About Open Minds Integrated Mental Health Services Open Minds has been a leading provider of mental health services to local communities for over 111 years, operating sites across NSW and QLD.
