Community Justice Services SA – Mount Gambier SA
Community Justice Services SA (CJSSA) is a non-for-profit organisation that provides free legal assistance to disadvantaged and vulnerable clients residing in the southern, southeast and Riverland regions. CJSSA operates from three office locations at Christies Beach, Mount Gambier (Limestone Coast), and Berri.
The Service assists people in all Family Law areas including representation, advice, and referrals, Child Protection, Criminal Law, and Civil matters (e.g. employment, debt recovery, motor vehicle property damage and contract disputes).
The intake team works collaboratively across our three offices to provide a professional, trauma-informed, culturally aware service to our disadvantaged and vulnerable clients. As an intake admin officer, you are an integral part of the delivery of social justice with our legal team.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Intake officer will work within the Centre's admin support team to provide high quality administration support to legal staff and triage enquiries. This position is for two days a week.
The Intake officer will:
Ensure client confidentiality is maintained at the highest standard.Process all incoming referrals.Perform conflict checks and manage solicitor appointments including management of outreach programs.Maintain accurate data entry, records, statistical information and all other requisite data in relation to the provision of client services.Communicate and work effectively with people from varying backgrounds and in particular those with special needs.Provide appropriate referral to Legal Services and other services where relevant.Be conversant and comply with CJSSA policies, practices and procedures.Undertake training and professional development as necessary through attendance at seminars, workshops, conferences, professional liaison as directed and approved.Work in compliance with CLC Australia Professional Indemnity Insurance Guidelines.Undertake promotional and public relations with relevant Services and other related activities as required.Participate in regular staff meetings.Oversee the day-to-day operation of the office.Other duties as required.Selection CriteriaQualificationsRelevant office environment experience.Skills, Knowledge and ExperienceExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Sound computer literacy skills and experience with a legal database desirable but not essential.Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to social justice principles, understanding of the legal assistance sector and a commitment to CJSSA's vision and values.To work co-operatively under the direction of Management.Have a commitment to improving the personal and social situation of people from financially and socially disadvantaged backgrounds.Capacity to communicate in a trauma-informed manner to manage clients who may have mental health concerns or may present in a highly emotional state.Ability to maintain an environment of continuous improvement in all areas.Ability to work and contribute towards a positive team environment.Well-developed organisational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.Ability to adapt to a changing environment.ValuesJustice – access, equity, and empowerment.Innovation/Entrepreneurship/Adaptability – encouraging and implementing new solutions, through collaborations and strategies.Compassion – supportive and showing empathy.Advocacy – being a voice to those who cannot advocate for themselves.Safety – confidentiality and providing a safe workplace.Integrity – open and transparent management and governance.Salary / BenefitsSocial, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (plus super and generous salary sacrifice available) remuneration based on experience.
Salary Packaging InformationCJSSA employees are provided salary packaging benefits that may have considerable tax benefits depending on your individual circumstances:
General salary packing of $15,900 per FBT year.Meal entertainment of $2550 per FBT year and other possible additional benefits.All offers of employment are full-time for a fixed term for 12 months and are contingent upon:
