The Catholic Diocese of Lismore has an amazing opportunity for an insurance specialist to join its team to manage a diverse insurance portfolio.
The Diocese extends along the NSW North Coast from Tweed to Laurieton and includes 22 parishes plus not-for-profit entities and services.

About the opportunity
The Insurance Officer will be based in the Chancery offices in Lismore, and work to support the insurance needs of our diverse collection of stakeholders.
Key accountabilities include:
managing policy quotes, renewals and claims
work with parishes and entity leaders to understand their risk profile and insurance needs
manage relationships with brokers, assessors, claim service providers and other external agencies
prepare regular reports for Diocesan leaders and committees
report on trends and make recommendations on management of risk
maintain all records and provide summaries and briefs
coordinate or support notifiable incident reporting
Selection criteria
Demonstrated experience in specialist role managing insurance policies and claims and hold relevant qualifications.
Proven ability to operate within a risk framework and contribute to the risk management strategy of a large organisation.
Demonstrated ability to align practices with legislation, policies or similar in the context of insurance management.
Experience in providing advice on insurance trends, industry changes and local risks to leadership groups.
Proven success engaging with business and community partners.
Ability to work within the values and mission of the Catholic Church, such as desire to serve others, treating people with care, empathy and compassion, and respect of the diverse beliefs in our communities.
