Project Overview: Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.
Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.
Job Summary: Bechtel is seeking an Insulation Coordinator to join the Pluto Train 2 Team in Karratha, Western Australia.
You will be responsible for field construction operations within assigned discipline or area.
Major Responsibilities: Determines workforce requirements.
Coordinates established area operational plans.
Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed.
Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
Approves craft time records using established automated tools.
Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.
Monitors tool usage on the site.
Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
Other responsibilities as designated.
Education and Experience Requirements: Knowledge and experience in cryogenic cold insulation, acoustic insulation, and hot insulation.
Experience in planning and execution of pipe insulation on a large scale construction process.
Experience on working with, and supervising a Direct Hire workforce.
Experience working with, supervising and administering subcontractors.
Required Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of industry quality and training qualifications for cold insulation.
Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero Accident Philosophy.
Knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan and the Bechtel Core Processes.
Knowledge of the Six Sigma program tools and methodologies.
Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs).
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.
Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and subcontractor's responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.

Additional Information This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.
), and work in inclement weather.
Some lifting may be required.
Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e.
respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e.
cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.
Mobile phones and other personal electronic devices – i.e.
wireless headphones, iPads, smart watches - are also not permitted on site.
This position is available to both local and non-local personnel.
For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
