Molycop Technologies provides advanced instrumentation, process control, IIoT, and AI solutions to the minerals industry. This position is for a motivated Instrumentation Engineer who wants to be part of a highly qualified and agile team and become a technical expert on online analysers and instrumentation.
You will be involved in the installation, commissioning, support, and continual improvements of advanced process analysers, as well as new developments and integrating the instrumentation with our other advanced technologies.
You will be provided with the necessary training, both in the office and on the job. We are looking for someone to hit the ground running. A fair amount of travel will be required to provide on-site services to clients, which will be balanced with office-based work in Balcatta.
Responsibilities and Duties Become an expert in all aspects of our analysers and instruments.Installation, commissioning, testing, problem solving, repairing, and maintenance of online analysers, both on-site and remotely (office).Conduct plant visits at Australasian and international mineral processing plants, which are usually scheduled during weekdays, but might sometimes go over weekends or require to be 1 to 3 weeks away (not very often).Online monitoring of instruments via our IIoT platform.Write technical documents and reports, e.g., commissioning reports and conference papers.Opportunities to get involved in the manufacturing and upgrade design of instruments.Opportunities to get involved in Advanced Process Control and/or data analytics.Partially working from home is an option after the training period.Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Engineering (e.g., Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Process Engineering) or another relevant qualification in an electrical, instrumentation, or processing field.Skills and Work Experience The following skills are required for the position:
Technical background (with Cynoprobe, C2 Meter, and StarCS products preferred).Very good English communication skills, both oral and written, with proven ability to upsell our products to customers.Demonstrated ability to find practical solutions for problems and work independently.Good knowledge of Allen Bradley/Rockwell software and hardware.The following skills will be advantageous:
PLC or other industrial control system knowledge/experience.Minerals processing industry experience or chemical process knowledge.Gold processing.Commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting experience.Industrial and/or embedded computer systems experience/knowledge.Industrial communications and IIoT experience/knowledge.A broad multi-disciplinary interest base, e.g., in mechanical engineering, process engineering and metallurgy, electrical engineering, software, networking, and internet skills.
