RCH has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years since it was founded in 1870, providing a full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services, including tertiary and quaternary care for critically ill and medically complex patients. The Hospital has more than 6,000 staff, a budget of $850M, 12 wards, and 350 beds, handling over 300,000 Specialist Clinic appointments and 90,000 Emergency Department presentations annually.
About the Role This is a Permanent Full Time position within the Central Sterilising Services Department. This position requires a qualified Instrument Technician who can work in all areas of CSSD without direct supervision. The purpose of this position is to provide all stages of reprocessing services for patient care equipment for all RCH departments and surgical instruments for use in surgery.
What you'll achieve: Performing all CSSD daily activities and duties, ensuring timely delivery of services and products according to documented instructions and current Australian Standards.Monitoring the operation of all reprocessing equipment and reporting any failures through the internal reporting system for faults and repairs, ensuring staff safety is maintained.Assisting in the orientation of new staff members within CSSD for appropriate and timely training.Using all CSSD processing equipment safely and assisting with stock management to ensure appropriate levels of stock are available.Responding to enquiries and requests to provide excellent customer service.Your skills and experience: CSSD experience in accordance with the Award.Knowledge of surgical instrumentation.Knowledge of sterilization procedures and practices.If this sounds like you, click here to view the position description.
