Your role at St John of God We are seeking applications for an Instrument Technician to join our Perioperative Team at Ballarat, on a casual basis.
Working as an Instrument Technician you will ensure effective cleaning, decontamination, packing and sterilising of items for reprocessing, and will utilise equipment associated with the above appropriately in accordance with AS 4187.
The Position Contributes to and is involved in Quality Activities with a focus on best practice.
Participates in determining and evaluating the quality of care being delivered to patients.
Co-operates in data collection of hospital-wide Quality Activity projects and Clinical Indicators.
Ensures that the need of the customer, both internal and external, receives the highest priority and that the objective is to exceed the customer's expectations.
Maintain effective work practice in regard to manual and mechanical washing, lubrication, drying, packaging and sterilising.
Develop a sound working knowledge of all instrumentation requiring reprocessing.
Successful applicants will have effective documentation and interpersonal skills, and able to work efficiently as a team member.
Certificate 3 in Sterilisation Services and/or experience in CSSD sterilisation and instrument processing will be highly regarded.
