The primary focus of this role is to support the implementation and embedding of the minimum schooling guarantee for reading and, where there is capacity, to include attention on strengthening numeracy practices.
The role will do this through enabling school leadership staff and teaching teams to implement evidence-based, consistent and aligned strategies for the teaching of literacy and numeracy, to improve the learning outcomes for all students within the classroom.
The role will support the implementation of the essential elements of the multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) framework.
This will include a focus on quality Tier 1 instruction, and processes and practices for Tiers 2 and 3.

Duties

Period of Appointment
3 February 2025 to 17 December 2027
Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.

Hours per fortnight
70 hours per fortnight
The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered.
A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014.
This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.
Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment) A registered teacher with full registration within the meaning of the Teachers Registration Act 2000.
Four years or more training as defined in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award 2005.
