This full-time role is scheduled to commence on Friday, 31 January 2025. We welcome applications from recent graduates as well (if applicable).About the RoleThe Instructional Specialist is an exemplary classroom practitioner and member of the school's senior leadership team. The Instructional Specialist is responsible for leading school-wide teaching and learning initiatives, supporting teachers to deliver a high-quality reformed curriculum, transforming pedagogical practice, and ensuring excellent student outcomes. The role is also responsible for supporting the implementation of system-wide teaching and learning initiatives, collaborating with network Teaching & Learning Coaches to implement 'SCS Excellence in Action' across Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS).Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Lead school-wide improvement initiatives targeted at lifting student achievement and growth.Exhibit exemplary, evidence-based practice and lead colleagues to plan, implement and review the effectiveness of their learning and teaching.Lead collaborative practice with colleagues to modify and expand their repertoire of teaching strategies by modelling exemplary classroom practice.Conduct thorough analyses of data and trends within the school to identify areas for growth, informing targeted instructional strategies and interventions that foster continuous improvement.Plan and lead the development of professional learning that address the professional learning needs of colleagues.Support the implementation of 'SCS Excellence in Action'.Facilitate the sharing of effective practices by actively engaging in and contributing to Network Professional Learning Communities, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across schools.Any other duties as directed from time to time.About YouTo be successful in this position, you must possess:A university degree in Education or Teaching.Accreditation as a Proficient teacher with NESA.Demonstrated practice equivalent to Highly Accomplished or Lead level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in a school.Experience in leading staff in professional learning.Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and implementing school-wide initiatives.Experience in using data analysis to inform educational initiatives.The ability to articulate contemporary educational trends in both local and international contexts.Strong written, oral and presentation skills.Postgraduate qualification in Education or a related discipline.Current driver's licence.A Baptised Catholic with demonstrated evidence of ongoing commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and engagement in the life of a Catholic faith community.Application ProcessPlease click on the 'Apply' button and follow the steps to submit your application.
