We drive workplace change through education, specialist advice and enforcement.Asbestos Team is looking for a subject matter expert in the area of Asbestos who is able to undertake complex and sensitive regulatory and technical activities and provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders of WorkSafe.Occupational Health and Hygiene Team is looking for Inspector Scientific Officers who can carry out workplace inspections, enforce the WHS legislation, and provide advice on occupational hygiene issues with limited guidance.As a WorkSafe Inspector, you will have a vital role in ensuring that workplaces are:adopting appropriate risk management strategies to reduce workplace hazards that can cause multiple and repeat fatalities and serious injuries;working to improve the management of psychosocial hazards;protecting workers from health hazards such as harmful dusts;consulting and involving workers in designing and implementing safe systems of work; andcomplying with work health and safety laws.With investigative skills and experience in a regulatory, safety or general industry, you will be responsible for:carrying out workplace inspections and taking appropriate enforcement actions when health and safety laws are breached;conducting investigations into workplace incidents or accidents;assessing any possible breaches of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 or equivalent relevant legislation;gathering evidence and preparing briefs to legal, making recommendations about prosecutions and presenting evidence in court; andpromoting and delivering work health and safety presentations, providing information to workplaces.Our team members come from a wide range of professions, and with no two days ever being the same, problem solving comes naturally to us.
