SafeWork NSW is the state's workplace health and safety regulator. Our focus is to reduce work related fatalities, serious injuries and illnesses by securing compliance with work health and safety legislation and improving the safety culture in NSW workplaces.
About the Role
As an Inspector in Regional Construction Compliance, you will be responsible for:
Undertaking proactive site inspections, responding to customer requests, completing preliminary incident investigations, delivering presentations, and working with major industry stakeholders to improve safety standards Providing advice regardingconstruction safe work practices and how to comply with work health and safety legislation Taking action where safe work practices fall below industry expectations Producing reports to confirm your actions Ensuring internal administrative compliance by completing travel, expense, and time keeping records Contributing to a positive, supportive, and fun workplace To be successful, you will have:
Qualifications and or and experience in the building industry A working understanding of safety requirements applicable to construction Strong communication skills to engage and influence key stakeholders to improve regulatory outcomes Good written communication skills and an ability to understand comprehensive and/or technical reports Well established resilience skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a timely manner Demonstrated knowledge and use of digital technology
Work a 38-hour working week, including some weekends and participate in the After-Hours Emergency Response Service Receive an attractive salary package along with the required tools of the trade, including a vehicle with access to private use (currently at a cost of approximately $210 per fortnight) Be able to access flexible working conditions within operational requirements Essential requirements Ability to travel, work remotely and out of usual business hours Hold a NSW 'C' class drivers' licence with a satisfactory safe driving record and a requirement to maintain the safe driving record throughout employment Satisfactory criminal record check Satisfactory medical assessment capacity regarding physical and psychological impacts of the inherent duties of the role Your application should include:
