Purpose Statement As an Insight Executive at BAT South, you will have a vital role in our Insights & Foresights team located in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting research on consumer behavior, consumer preferences, and competitor insights for both Combustibles and New Categories. Contribute to the development of a Single View of the Consumer and insights/foresights across the key contestable consumer pools to drive scale in our brands and protect the heartland base of our portfolio. Drive data-driven and customer-first obsession along with building capabilities and innovative approaches across the insights agenda especially across combustibles. Responsibilities: i. Business Define & implement the insight's agenda for Combustibles for ANZ & South Pacific. Commission market research in line with the local, area and global agenda, with a focus on innovative methodologies which enhance insight effectiveness & continuous improvement to produce agile, high value & actionable insights. Harness insights findings, categories' and ex-categories' trends to build a profound understanding of consumers. Translate data & information into impactful insights & foresights and support the business on implementing initiatives based on the insights provided so that actions taken are aligned with the findings presented. Provide input into the development of vision, strategy and go-to-market plans for each category. Support the development of a single view of the Nicotine Consumer in respective markets. Leverage synergies across markets through streamlining processes, ways of working and shared understanding of the consumer. Manage agency relationships to ensure consumer insights are produced efficiently and projects are contributing to the commercial strategy. ii. People Lead people in a way that they are engaged in their work and coach team members with the aim of developing a pipeline of marketing talent. Support development and embedding of new capabilities across the business. Partner with peers & leaders across the organisation to deliver the insight's roadmap. Formulate objectives and critical metrics, ensure regular coaching and corrective activities take place to achieve objectives. Contribute to strategic direction for senior leadership -- bringing ideas, inspiration and creative thinking. Guide and bring team through continuous stretched ambition and fast pace adaptation to evolving incremental plans. Critical Knowledge, Skills and Experience A tertiary degree or equivalent experience in a field such as Marketing, Business, Psychology or Analytics. At least 5 years in a similar role in a corporate environment or a research agency, with a consistent track record of business delivery. FMCG marketing skills: Digital / Social / ATL / BTL and understanding of brand communication challenges. Advanced understanding of research methodologies and technical understanding of how resources and technology can be utilised to produce the required data and insights. Ability to draw long term industry insights from a dynamic and data heavy operation and use insights & foresights to drive decisions. Demonstrate solid analytic skills including: ability to synthesize information, identify trends, reduce complexity and identify key opportunities. Excellent communication and storytelling skills: ability to deliver effective presentations to stakeholders. Capability in providing the right level of detail, depending on the needs of the user.
