16th October, 2024Imagine your future with usAt ALS, we encourage you to dream big.When you join ALS, you join a purpose and values-driven team that empowers you to innovate, create, and thrive.Our global team turns up each day with passion and commitment to do amazing things, always challenging our thinking to find ways to solve some of the world's most complex problems for a safer, healthier world.The day to dayThe Environmental Division in Wangara seeks an Instrument Operator to join the Inorganic Team, which strives to exceed customer expectations by delivering quality results on time.The Full Time position is Monday through Friday on the 3pm to 11pm shift.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with the Quality Procedures ManualSupervision and training of laboratory staffPrioritising daily workloadsMonitoring instrument performanceEnsuring compliance with the laboratory's QC requirementsPreparing standards for sample analysisMaintaining relevant documentationThe EssentialsAt least 2 years experience in a commercial laboratory.A Bachelor or Honours degree (Chemistry major preferred).ThermoFisher Aquakem/Gallery, KPM SmartChem, Skalar SAN++, Metrohm Omnis experience in any of the instruments listed would be advantageous.A critical thinker who enjoys problem-solving, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of technical equipment.A working knowledge of various inorganic sample preparation techniques.A working knowledge of lab safety requirements.Preferably worked in a quality accredited environment.A keen interest in Inorganic analysis.Ability to work flexible hours or do overtime occasionally as the workload dictates.
