Job Description The Project ACCIONA has been selected to deliver Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2, Sydney's third harbour crossing. The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney.
Project scope includes:
Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each directionCivil, Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnelsSurface level work, including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah FreewayIn line with the above, ACCIONA is now looking for an Innovations Engineer to join the Western Harbour Tunnel Project. As a Junior Engineer focused on technology and innovation, you will be instrumental in integrating advanced tools, systems, and methodologies into our construction processes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-driven individual passionate about technology and process improvements to build a career at the forefront of construction innovation.
Specific Tasks Include Support the research, evaluation, and implementation of new technologies, software, and innovative toolsAssist in developing solutions to improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability in constructionConduct trials on the construction sites to assess the success of innovative solutions and quantify their benefitsCompile comprehensive reports detailing findings, the status of each initiative, and their impact on the projectGather feedback from stakeholders and assist in optimising initiatives for company-wide adoptionProvide basic training and support to team members adopting new tools or systemsRequired Skills and Competencies Qualifications and Experience Strong interest in technology and its applications and a proactive desire to learnExcellent analytical skills with the ability to track and interpret project data and outcomesEffective communication and presentation skills to engage with stakeholders and present findingsStrong organisational and time management abilities, with a focus on attention to detailAbility to work independently, maintaining a solution-oriented mindsetACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023 & 2024 certification in Australia, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
