An opportunity exists within Enterprise Project Delivery to cover a secondment until October 2025, one that will design innovative outcomes for our community and the environment. Innovation, sustainability and Healthy Country is at the heart of Barwon Water's Strategy 2030 and this role will play a key part in underpinning its success.
The Innovation and Sustainability Specialist will ensure that our ambitions and values in the space of Carbon Reduction and Climate Resilience are applied at the practical level of project delivery. You will be responsible for identifying areas of improvement and optimisation that will add value to program, projects and report of key sustainability metrics.
You will develop documents for Barwon Water's climate reduction targets, defining and setting the targets for our Scope 3 emissions, working closely with the broader team to ensure this focus is embedded across all projects. You will develop clear technical guidance for how to incorporate climate resilience into our project delivery thinking.
This is a secondment backfill until October 2025 and you will be engaged via a third party agency during the assignment.
About You In this role you will combine an analytical approach with your passion for sustainable practices, bringing new solutions and ideas to some of Barwon Water's complex projects. You will have an innovative mindset and enjoy designing industry next practice frameworks.
You will have a keen interest in project management and be a natural influencer of others. As a proactive relationship builder, you will use data to your advantage, presenting reasoned findings based on research and science. Your passion will support your continuous improvement focus as the business delivers on exciting projects in line with our Strategy 2030.
Your knowledge of construction carbon reduction practices combined with qualifications in science, engineering or similar will see your skills challenged in this rewarding role. With a determination to deliver you will enjoy working collaboratively and capable of solving complex problems.
