Job Description Summary The Innovation and Business Analyst Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the operational needs of the business in the implementation of processes, workflows, data analysis, reporting using the JAMS (Job and Asset Management System) system.
The JAMS system is an in-house software system that is used throughout Service Stream to manage their maintenance contracts and to enhance efficiency and productivity. The solution offers tools for work order management, resource and inventory management, asset management, cost control, field mobility, GIS/mapping etc. It is fully customizable to project needs through its system of modules, page and workflow building tools, SQL and low code.
About the Role Key Responsibilities: Perform business analysis activities to scope out the requirements of a business need. Conduct workshops with stakeholders and guide them to desirable and appropriate solutions. Produce clear and concise documentation of requirements, processes, features, models, etc. Liaise with the Application Manager to review proposed solutions. Once agreed, configure the solution in JAMS using the JAMS tools and standard modules, building customized views and workflows as required. Project manage your own implementations and report progress to the Business and Application Manager through JAMS tools and JIRA. Note, an agile and progressive/iterative approach is used and will require constant communication with the business. Learn, adopt and use the standard development and testing techniques, conventions, patterns, etc. used in JAMS setups. Produce timely and good quality work that satisfies the business overall. Produce technical documentation, user documentation and conduct training as required. On completion of any work, provide BAU support to the business including triaging of issues, implementing fixes/tweaks, modifications or improvements. The above may include producing reporting using PowerBI. Continually look at opportunities to improve operational processes and solutions as a key member of the business. Technical certifications are preferred. An adept business analyst, with at least 3+ years experience. Good understanding and experience with SQL, preferably in MS SQL Server. Familiarity with JSON and some JavaScript experience. An understanding of XML/HTML. Ability to work with data in the form of querying, analysis and reporting. Experience using modern reporting tools such as PowerBI. Good technical experience and ability/desire to learn the JAMS system and upskill to advanced SQL skills. Prior experience working in Telecommunication, Gas, Electricity and Water Utilities industry domains is preferred. Knowledge of work management systems is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
