Brightwater is currently seeking an experienced and
Injury Management and Return to Work Coordinator
to join our Safety and Health team for a fixed term up to 16-months full time, covering a period of parental leave.
The Injury Management and Return to Work Coordinator plays a crucial role in two key areas:
Employee Support:
Facilitating the safe and successful return to work for injured employees by utilizing fit-for-purpose frameworks such as an early intervention program and structured return-to-work initiatives. Where required, assisting the navigation of the workers' compensation system will also be required.
Safety Improvement:
Collaborating with business leaders and at-risk employees to create and implement initiatives aimed at reducing safety incidents, preventing injuries, and enhancing Brightwater's overall safety performance.
Reporting to the Manager, Work Health and Safety, this position will collaborate with site leaders to manage and successfully return to work injured workers at Brightwater.
This is a crucial role that will also provide significant input into improvement initiatives for the whole of Brightwater's safety performance, with a particular focus on strategies that will reduce injuries across the organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Relevant tertiary qualification in safety and health, allied health or related discipline.
Demonstrated experience triaging an injured worker, determining appropriate medical management pathways and guiding the worker through to recovery.
Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology, workers compensation legislation and the claims management process.
Experience directing incident investigation priorities to determine the root cause of an injury, development and delivery of training presentations and a history of dealing with complex workers' compensation claims will all be considered advantageous; however, there are supportive team members and external consultants available to assist your personal growth in these areas.
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong customer focus, emotional intelligence and empathy skills.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in various environments and the ability to inclusively communicate with a diverse range of people, building successful relationships.
Excellent computer skills with sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and experience in the use of safety databases and management software (SolvInjury experience will be an advantage).
Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, work effectively under pressure, problem solve and use resources effectively, safely and efficiently.
Satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months and a current Western Australian 'C' Class driver's licence.
