The Injury Management Specialist will be the expert on workplace injury management practices to support Case Managers in developing the most effective return to work/life and recovery strategies. This will be a full time, permanent position based in the Tweed Heads office, with flexibility to work from home. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Contribute to practice and professional development initiatives. Review and provide responses to internal audits, emerging trends and claims management practices. Working closely with Managers to assess areas of improvement regarding treatment management. Progress matters as a priority and meeting reporting standards whilst recommending action to reduce risks. Identify and assist Claims Operations team members to address barriers to enable early return to work outcomes and review of strategy on long term claims Actively participating in telephone discussions with treating health practitioners when reviewing Management Plans. Assist with the implementation of injury management, rehabilitation and vocational rehabilitation Initiatives Assist and guide Operations team members in personalising their claims management approach, such as writing tailored questions for medical reports, rehabilitation and independent medical reports Follow up to ensure actions are completed on files in order to review and influence a continuing case management strategy and claim finalisation. Assess and advise guide Claims Operations team members on appropriate services for claims management. In conjunction with the Team Leader identify, develop and implement effective strategies to support the achievement of key performance and remuneration measures and deliver the desired customer experience. Identify, develop and support and/or implement new initiatives, quality and continuous improvement activities as part of a continuous improvement process in own work and team. Review and sign off on Minor/Non-Minor injury decisions in accordance to NSW CTP legislation. ABOUT YOU You enjoy sharing knowledge and coaching. Strong oral and writer communication skills and a passion for working in a team environment to achieve outcomes, customer focused approach and someone who loves attention to detail. Demonstrated experience in Injury management, particularly high risk significant injury claims. Tertiary studies in Allied Health (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation, Exercise Science, Nursing, or other Allied Health Field), is required. Experience in injury management in rehabilitation/insurance/workers compensation is desirable. WHAT WE OFFER We stand together as equals.
