Employee Relations are seeking to establish a pool of Injury Management Consultants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2024 and up to the end of June 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The Employee Relations Directorate is responsible for ensuring that industrial instruments and legislative frameworks are complied with and that employees are supported in a range of discrete human resource matters. The Directorate is made up of two branches: Labour Relations and Employee Support Bureau and provides strategic and operational advice to the Minister, Director General, school leaders and line managers on a range of employee relations matters. The Employee Support Bureau handles occupational safety and health, injury management and workers' compensation functions for the whole of the Department.
The Role Suitable applicants will provide injury management services for compensable and non-compensable cases, through in-house services and through the coordination and monitoring of services with external rehabilitation providers. The position provides strategic and operational advice to ensure effective and efficient management of employee injury and illness in the workplace. The position is responsible for providing professional advice on the development and implementation of risk management strategies to facilitate employee wellbeing.

Demonstrated high-level conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to apply innovative solutions to complex problems in the development and implementation of relevant return to work programs, or strategies to maintain an employee with a medical condition or injury at work.
