About the Role: Reporting to the National WHS and Environmental Manager (Australia and New Zealand), the Injury Management and RTW Specialist will be responsible for proactively managing Workers' Compensation claims processes.
This will include: Processing claims documents, certificates, and invoices in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with applicable workers' compensation legislation.
Liaising with injured workers, managers, workers' compensation insurers, and health providers to identify suitable duties and provide the best return to work outcomes for injured workers.
Maintaining the injury management Solv Injury software, ensuring all claims are up to date and accurate.
Ensuring a supported and timely RTW program is in place to maximize rehabilitation outcomes for workers while minimizing impacts on insurance premiums and maintaining a positive safety culture.
What your day can look like: Assist in developing and implementing timely return to work arrangements and plans.
Establish and maintain contact with the injured worker to encourage them to actively participate in the development of the rehabilitation program.
Ensure that rehabilitation and Return to Work Plans are developed in consultation with the injured worker, treating health practitioners, supervisor, and union representatives (with consent), and that these plans are formally documented and provided to relevant parties.
Coordinate the worker's recovery at work, including assisting in identifying timely suitable and meaningful duties.
Monitor the injured worker's progress.
Follow agreed injury management processes.
Provide moral support to the injured worker in their treatment and return to work.
Maintain ongoing communication regarding rehabilitation and return to work between all parties.
Identify early if the worker will not return to their pre-injury role and set the claim strategy accordingly.
If a return to the pre-injury role is not possible, work actively with stakeholders to assist the worker in obtaining alternative employment.
Ensure confidential information is handled and stored with the highest levels of integrity throughout the rehabilitation process.
Ensure RTW related activities are actioned and resolved appropriately within organizational KPI and reporting timeframes.
Assist in the selection and monitoring of occupational rehabilitation providers.
Lodge claims with insurers through the workers' compensation injury management system, ensuring initial notifications are lodged within reporting timeframes.
Collate and maintain confidential case notes and records in Solv Injury in line with laws and guidelines.
Assist Payroll with weekly workers' compensation wages.
Submit Wage Reimbursement Schedules to insurers monthly.
Participate in conciliations and legal proceedings for workers' compensation matters.
Triage workplace injuries as they occur across all shifts.
What you can bring to us: Demonstrated relevant experience in an Injury Management and RTW role.
Knowledge and experience in Lost Prevention Recovery (LPR) and conventional workers' compensation models.
Diploma of Personal Injury Management and state RTW Coordination qualifications.
Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to lead, negotiate, and consult effectively with key stakeholders.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills with a proactive approach to resolving RTW matters in a consultative manner.
Working knowledge of WHS principles with the ability to interpret and apply Workers' Compensation legislative standards and guidelines.
Ability to operate in a highly administrative role.
Highly proficient in the use of technology; Microsoft suite of products, and online injury management software (Solv Injury).
Ability to effectively lead the coordination of workers' compensation claims management processes and early intervention strategies.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to interpret and apply workers' compensation legislative standards and guidelines as they apply to organizational claims management and rehabilitation initiatives.
Ability to work within a team and autonomously to achieve required outcomes within specified deadlines/time frames.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Injury Management and RTW Specialist role.
