Provide technical coaching and mentoring to team members in injury management and strategy Permanent full-time opportunity Newcastle location About the role This Injury Management Advisor role offers the opportunity for an allied health professional to use their existing clinical skills and knowledge, applied to a compensable injury recovery setting.
The role requires critical analysis of clinical information to advocate for best practice treatment and timely recovery to allow the injured person to move forward with their life as soon as possible.
What you'll do Work alongside the claims team leader and technical advisor to create a high performing team delivering positive outcomes to injured people and driving shareholder value Review claim files and provide subject matter expertise to claims advisors including interpreting medical reports, providing injury management advice and determining rehabilitation requirements Prepare professional written and verbal advice to claims advisors on reasonable and appropriate treatment and rehabilitation services, and recommendations for future rehabilitation management Provide consistent injury management expertise to ensure ongoing quality decisions and provide input into claims strategy Share knowledge, coach and mentor claims advisors to develop injury management capabilities Build external relationships with best-in-class treatment and service providers to assist injured people meet their recovery goals What you'll bring Degree in Allied Health related discipline is mandatory Minimum 2+ years clinical experience and/or occupational rehabilitation experience is desirable Experience in the workers compensation scheme highly desirable Ability to use technology platforms to manage caseload effectively Proficiency to manage difficult conversations with injured people, external health professionals and legal professionals What we can offer you Competitive benefits package and excellent work culture Excellent discounts on a range of retail favourite stores as well as insurance products A range of flexible working and leave options, including 20 weeks paid parental leave and unlimited paid emergency response leave Invest in your brighter future with ongoing study support and career development programs About Suncorp Group Suncorp Group is all about making a difference for people and in the communities they call home.
