About the role We have a new position within the Ingenia IT team. Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, the Senior Systems Engineer will work alongside the Infrastructure Engineering team to help lead project work and system improvements across our 90+ sites. From day one, this role will be heavily involved in our cloud strategy and in the longer term, will be one of the key owners of our corporate cloud environments.
Key Accountabilities Provide technical leadership (mentoring/coaching) and technical support to the Service Desk team Fault/Event Management, Incident Management, Problem Resolution and Root Cause Analysis of IT Systems Take a lead role the company's continuous improvement iniatives and pivot our infrastructure into IaaS (Microsoft Azure) Design, delivery and management of Windows Systems, Windows based technology, and Linux based systems following best practise guidelines, across multiple international locations Work with stakeholders to gather business requirements for the implementation of these Systems and technology Identity areas of automation and migrate corporate server roles over to managed services in Microsoft Azure Prioritise security controls and identify areas of concern and action them Manage the patching process and ensure we are adhering to policy and Microsoft recommendations Refresh network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, WAP's) in accordance with SDLC Create and Maintain System Documentation Provide support to the sites outside of hours (when needed) and cordinate with our Vendors to restore conectivity About You 4+ years' experience in System Admin/Infrastructure roles Strong Experience working in an IT operations environment (dealing with Escalations, Fault/Event Management, Incident Management, Problem Resolution and Root Cause Analysis) Previous experience migrating infrastructure into the cloud (Azure) Strong planning and delivery skills and robust attention to detail Previous experience managing multiple sites Major Incident Management experience; both in terms of process and tools Any qualifications or vendor certifications will be highly desirable.
