One of IWA's priority functions is the development of a 20-year state infrastructure strategy. The first state infrastructure strategy, Foundations for a Stronger Tomorrow, was released in July 2022 and set a blueprint for WA by taking a holistic, strategic view of how infrastructure can support WA's prosperity over the next 2 decades and more. It established a long-term vision for the state and infrastructure needs to support progress towards a vision where WA is a sought after place to live, study and invest. The development of the next state infrastructure strategy has commenced with submission to the Premier and government due in 2027.
