About Us
Infrastructure WA (IWA) is a small and dynamic government agency that provides strategic advice to the Premier and Government on infrastructure needs, priorities and project proposals in WA.
One of IWA's priority functions is the development of a 20-year state infrastructure strategy.
The first state infrastructure strategy, Foundations for a Stronger Tomorrow, was released in July 2022 and set a blueprint for WA by taking a holistic, strategic view of how infrastructure can support WA's prosperity over the next 2 decades and more.
It established a long-term vision for the state and infrastructure needs to support progress towards a vision where WA is a sought after place to live, study and invest. It positions infrastructure as critical to improving productivity and equity, unlocking industry growth that leverages WA's advantages and diversifies its economic base.
The development of the next state infrastructure strategy has commenced with submission to the Premier and government due in 2027. IWA has current and future short-term opportunities to work on bringing this next strategy to life for the benefit of all West Australians, and to support IWA's other functions.
