Byron Shire Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic Infrastructure Planning Coordinator. The position plays a key role in managing the Infrastructure Planning Team and providing a high level of technical expertise for the scoping, design, development, management and delivery of programs of work and individual projects for the Works Team and the Infrastructure Services Directorate for road, bridge, drainage and associated assets; traffic matters, paid parking and parking management schemes; and road and property matters.
Some specific tasks include:
Developing annual programs of works for Council assets by undertaking desktop assessments and preparing concept designs for projects.
Preparing project briefs for forward Capital works including preliminary cost estimates.
Undertaking maintenance planning and providing advice and directions to Works Coordinator for maintenance activities to ensure high quality services are provided.
Preparing specifications, contract documents or quotations, as required, for the supply of materials or execution of works, analysing tenders and reporting recommendations thereon.
Managing the road and property matters for the Work Team, including the acquisition of land, sale of surplus land, road closures, road naming, road name signage, road leasing and S138 Applications.
Managing paid parking and parking management schemes.
The successful candidate will meet the criteria set out in the Position Description below.
This position is offered as a fixed term appointment until 31 December 2027 to temporarily replace an employee who is on secondment.
