Your MissionAs our Infrastructure Engineering Manager, you'll be managing the team responsible for helping Propeller build, deploy and run software at scale. You'll be working closely with our Infrastructure/DevOps Engineers to maintain the infrastructure platform that runs our customer and internal facing applications. Your team will enable our broader team of engineers to build, deploy and run our 3D software at a global scale.
You'll take ownership of the technical strategy for our entire infrastructure platform, supporting our cloud native web services alongside our on-premise batch processing capabilities. You'll be working with a team of highly capable engineers to look after our cloud-based infrastructure, working with technologies such as Kubernetes and Terraform to maintain and build on existing infrastructure code. Your team also helps look after physical servers in our data center facilities and will continue to perform checks, upgrades, and fixes on our systems.
You are expected to be physically in our Sydney office at least one day per week on average. In summary, you will:
Manage our Infrastructure Team (consisting of DevOps engineers), define team strategy, and build our infrastructure platform. Your team is responsible for:Managing all aspects of our AWS infrastructure as well as on-premise machines.Developing efficient automated workflows and patterns for our other teams to leverage while building our product.Operating within the Infrastructure as Code framework to manage our ever-evolving architecture.Helping and supporting other developers across the various engineering teams on any showstopper issues that may arise during their daily work. Technical Skills Requirements1+ years of experience managing an Infrastructure, DevOps, or related engineering team.3+ years of experience in an infrastructure engineering role, involving both physical, on-premise machines and virtual instances on the cloud.Experience with Linux system administration. Ability to write shell scripts.Networking experience.Deep familiarity with the AWS platform and its services.Ideally, you possess experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern distributed microservices.Prior experience developing internal tools for other engineers and managing CI/CD pipelines.Experience with scripting in Python, Javascript, or Typescript.Soft Skills RequirementsCommunication: You can understand others and be understood by others.
