Infrastructure Engineer

Details of the offer

About the company: We are working with a leading financial company that specialises in creating software products for the banking sector. Their core platforms are used by millions of people every day across some of Australia's largest organisations. They are an organisation that can offer career progression and growth, with many employees joining as graduates and working their way through to Senior/ Lead level.
What we're looking for: This 12-month full-time contract is perfect for the tinkerers, the hands-on problem solvers, the home-lab enthusiasts, and the tech-savvy geeks. If this sounds like you, you'll feel right at home here. This team values attitude as much as technical skills. You'll fit right in if you're passionate about Ops, eager to learn, and unafraid to dive into new challenges. While technical skills can be taught, a proactive attitude and willingness to grow are paramount. To succeed in this role, you'll need strong problem-solving abilities, a knack for thinking outside the box, and a passion for continuously improving how things are done.
What you'll be doing: Working within their operations team, servicing corporate and production infrastructure to ensure seamless performance. Designing, installing, configuring, and supporting infrastructure systems. Collaborating with developers and third-party providers to deliver high-quality and high-availability infrastructure. Working on complex technical projects with a focus on maintaining optimal security standards. Ideal experience: This role has a real breadth of scope, with exposure to many systems and technologies. We understand you likely won't have exposure to everything, but experience with some of the following will be advantageous:
Strong background in managing large-scale infrastructure in high availability and secure environments. Expertise with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls. Familiarity with F5 BIG-IP load balancers, TLS, DNS, and Web Services. Proficient with Microsoft Windows Server, RedHat Linux, and email systems (Exchange 365, SMTP). Experience with SEIM systems like Splunk and secure messaging protocols (SFTP, HTTPS). Knowledge of PCI-DSS, ISO27001, and CPS234 security standards. What's next? Please note this role is based in Newcastle, NSW. Given the requirements to work closely with the other team members and to also grow your skillset, this role will be primarily office based. This role is being recruited by NewyTechPeople. All applicants will receive a response. The easiest way to register your interest is to apply using the link.
