The Information Services Directorate sits within the People andCorporate Services Division and provides integral services in theinformation and communication technology space to the entireDepartment. Information Services partner with our customers andstakeholders to support and drive the development of innovative,digital, and customer-focused outcomes and services.

The Opportunity
The Information Systems and Governance Officer position resideswithin the Governance and Improvement unit of the Assurance sectionand provides specialised knowledge to ensure effective andcompliant information and records management at a departmentallevel. The role examines existing work practices and makesrecommendations regarding improvements to productivity with focuson digital information management. The role collaborates withstakeholders across Information Services to provide support inEDRMS testing, information management strategic improvement andtraining content development.

A key focus of the role is to work closely with others acrossInformation Services to improve practices and provide guidance ongovernance and quality requirements, while ensuring compliance withdepartmental, whole of government and industry standards (e.g.Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT)2019).

In contributing to the delivery of the Governance and ImprovementTeam's core business, the successful candidate willdemonstrate skills, capability and experience across thefollowing:

COBIT frameworkknowledge and benchmarking capability, risk managementtechniques, improvement strategiesand governance structures, reporting and analysisskillsets, and customer engagementapproach to delivering. Qualifications/Experience
Qualifications commensurate with required technical capabilitiesand skills outlined within the Role Statement. 

A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline will be wellregarded.

Special Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to provide a NationalPolice Check (NPC) prior to employment with the Department forInfrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every threeyears.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with someintra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may berequired.

Tenure of Vacancy
Temporary appointment up to 12 months

Remuneration
ASO5 - $84,522 to $94,003 per annum
