About the Role: The Information Security Engineer will be passionate about security and have the desire to learn and grow with the team. The successful candidate will plan and execute security measures to monitor and protect sensitive data and systems from infiltration and cyber-attacks. They will be familiar with cloud and virtualisation technologies needed to secure public cloud environments, perform web application security testing and traditional penetration testing. They will be able to operate effectively as part of a close-knit team within a fast-paced dynamic environment, and have the confidence to make recommendations based on business needs and security requirements. Responsibilities: Implement and enforce company policy against unauthorised access, modification, or destruction. Work with end users to triage incident reports by reviewing, validating, and classifying security events. Monitor and analyse security and traffic logs to investigate incidents and document findings. Analyse and configure a variety of network hardware, appliances and systems (i.e. antivirus, network intrusion detection systems, etc.). Determine correct remediation actions or escalation of incidents for each security event, as appropriate. Identify trends in events and incidents and make recommendations to improve risk posture. Create policy and procedures to maintain compliance throughout the organisation. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Security or similar field preferred. Security industry certification preferred (e.g. CSA+, Sec+, CCNA Security, GSIF, GSEC, GSED, GCIA, SSCP). 4+ years' experience working in a similar environment with excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to learn quickly, retain information and apply relevant knowledge. Ability to document and explain technical details in a concise and understandable manner with visual representation of information systems. Experience in programming and/or scripting languages. Previous experience with penetration testing and underlying methodologies, malware analysis and/or forensics experience.
