We are seeking self-motivated individuals with a commitment to excellent information management practices, to manage and maintain ASIO's information.
This is a challenging and dynamic work environment that will see you undertaking a range of procedural, operational and administrative activities associated with the management of information and data within legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks.
We are recruiting for current and anticipated vacancies at the AE4, AE5 and AE6 levels.
Role responsibilities As an AE4-AE6 Information Management Officer in ASIO, you will: Contribute to the distribution of hardcopy and digital documentation, including the preparation of inter-agency correspondence and liaison with government agencies.
Understand and utilise information systems and tools, engaging with clients to provide information management and record keeping advice (and where appropriate subject matter expertise) to support the creation, access, retention and disposal of ASIO information across multiple systems.
Identify or lead the enhancement of information management capabilities through the research, development and implementation of information management practices, procedures, policies, frameworks, strategies and systems.
Understand, interpret and translate legislation, whole-of-government policy and agency specific requirements into sound information management advice and practices to meet business and legislative requirements.
Develop, present and share subject information, experience and subject matter expertise on information management responsibilities, principles and procedures, contributing to a corporate culture that supports excellence in information management.
Build and sustain strategic working relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders, government agencies and the information management community.
What you will bring We invite applications from people with the following attributes: Experience with, knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire an understanding of the principles and practices of information management.
Experience managing information, including within an Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) or Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system, or similar.
The ability to work effectively, both independently and collaboratively in a team, to manage networks and provide advice and support for managing information.
Well-developed organisational skills including the ability to persist with difficult tasks and manage competing priorities while delivering a high standard of work.
Highly developed communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and negotiate with influence.
The ability to research and analyse information from a wide range of sources to identify risks, irritants and opportunities and provide solutions to achieve business outcomes.
Strong analytical skills, lateral thinking and attention to detail.

Employment conditions Employment is under the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Act 1979.
Conditions of service are similar to those applying in the Australian Public Service.
We recognise entitlements accrued under the Public Service Act 1999 and provide for continuation of superannuation under the Commonwealth schemes.
