Job Description ASO6 Information Access Officer Approximate 2-3 month contract with possibility of extension| Canberra Location | $62.62 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation | WWVP required OVERVIEW Our State Government client is currently seeking an experienced Information Access Officer to join their team at the ASO6 level.
Within this role you will assist the Legal Services team through a range of supporting activities to manage requests for information including the retrieval, filing and preparation of documents to facilitate the handling of information requests and litigation.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Manage requests for Information.
Undertake thorough search to retrieve all material relevant to requests for information.
Review protected information for the purpose of identifying redactions.
Keep an accurate record of the review and identified potential redactions with corresponding reasons.
Prepare comprehensive briefs to the Director General regarding material that has been requested and reviewed.
Where applicable seek Solicitor advice on a range of matters related to information sharing.
EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS An understanding of or ability to quickly acquire an understanding of relevant legislation and role specific policies underpinning the core responsibilities and principles of child and youth protection and/or MACR/Youth Justice Experience and/or a desire to work in a community services environment is essential.
Experience and/or a desire to work in a legal environment is essential.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and database systems is essential.
Experience in the preparation of court documents and knowledge of the court and tribunal system and relevant procedures is desirable.
