About the Role As an Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator you will provide clinical expertise and mentoring to our care teams across the Shoalhaven region. Reporting to the Senior Clinical Manager, this role will lead the infection prevention and control activities for a team of dedicated Aged Care Employees.We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to work at our Aged Care Center at Marco Polo Unanderra. This is a part time position offering a minimum of 20 hours per week. This role will have you working Wednesday- Friday 8:30am -5pm (week 1) and Wednesday- Thursday 8:30am-5pm (week 2). Your work may include: Conduct regular reviews of current practice and develop recommendations for improvement Assess, promote and contribute to the development of the Infection Prevention and Control Policy, Procedures and Outbreak Management Plans Participate in compliance audits and report on findings Contribute to the Infection Prevention and Control training programs Provide expert knowledge and guidance on Infection Prevention and Control, and the identification and management of diseases/complications in our Aged Care Centres Manage and respond to infection and infection related matters Work with the Clinical Nurse Educator to promote uptake and high standards of education, competency and orientation regarding infection control to all employees Extend Infection Prevention and Control information and education to our residents and their families Assist in the coordination of vaccination programs for our residents and employees Coordinate outbreaks including meetings, internal and external line listing and post outbreak debriefs To Be Successful You Will Have A registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, preferably with substantial post basic experience in Nursing Completed ICC training COVID-19 infection control online training modules, specifically: Infection Control Training – COVID 19 Immunisation certificate All aged care modules Completed, or be enrolled in, a suitable IPC training course for completion as mandated A sound understanding of the principles of infection prevention & control and outbreak management The ability to interpret Infection Control and Waste Management Standards and develop / implement related policies and procedures Sound problem solving, analytical, attention to detail and negotiation skills High level written (including report writing) and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills Benefits for You Competitive pay and more cash in your pocket (less tax) with not-for-profit salary packaging Flexible working conditions Birthday leave - relax and take a day off on us!
