About the Role
As an Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator, you will provide clinical expertise and mentoring to our care teams across the Shoalhaven region. Reporting to the Senior Clinical Manager, this role will lead the infection prevention and control activities for a team of dedicated Aged Care Employees. This is a part-time position offering a minimum of 20 hours per week, working Wednesdays to Fridays (8:30 am - 5:00 pm) in week 1 and Wednesdays to Thursdays (8:30 am - 5:00 pm) in week 2.
Your work may include: Conduct regular reviews of current practice and develop recommendations for improvementAssess, promote and contribute to the development of the Infection Prevention and Control Policy, Procedures and Outbreak Management PlansParticipate in compliance audits and report on findingsContribute to the Infection Prevention and Control training programsProvide expert knowledge and guidance on Infection Prevention and Control, and the identification and management of diseases/complications in our Aged Care CentresManage and respond to infection and infection-related mattersWork with the Clinical Nurse Educator to promote uptake and high standards of education, competency and orientation regarding infection control to all employeesExtend Infection Prevention and Control information and education to our residents and their familiesAssist in the coordination of vaccination programs for our residents and employeesCoordinate outbreaks including meetings, internal and external line listing and post outbreak debriefsTo Be Successful You Will Have: A registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, preferably with substantial post-basic experience in NursingCompleted ICC training COVID-19 infection control online training modulesImmunisation certificateAll aged care modulesCompleted, or be enrolled in, a suitable IPC training course for completion as mandatedA sound understanding of the principles of infection prevention & control and outbreak managementThe ability to interpret Infection Control and Waste Management Standards and develop/implement related policies and proceduresSound problem-solving, analytical, attention to detail and negotiation skillsHigh level written (including report writing) and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skillsBenefits for You: Competitive pay and more cash in your pocket (less tax) with not-for-profit salary packagingFlexible working conditionsBirthday leave - relax and take a day off on us!Professional and career development opportunitiesMultiple career pathwaysDiscounted gym membershipsFree counselling via Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and staff wellness programHow to Apply:
