Calvary North Adelaide Hospital Infection Control Clinical Nurse Level 2 Registered Nurse 0.6 FTE We are looking for an experienced and motivated Infection Control Health ProfessionalJoin one of Australia's leading health, community and aged care providersPermanent Part time position – flexible hours availableExcellent salary packaging options availableAbout the role The Infection Control Clinical Nurse is responsible for the implementation of infection control and prevention strategies in alignment with best practice. The role will promote and ensure compliance with all relevant standards and legislation. Surveillance of patients, staff and monitoring of antimicrobial stewardship is an integral component of the role. Willingness to participate in committee involvement and policy development is essential.
Practice in accordance with Calvary and relevant Government Health policies and procedures, the position description, Code of Conduct and industrial agreements.Support Infection Control Coordinator to monitor and manage critical incidents and sentinel events.Detect, record and report nosocomial infections on a systematic monthly basis.Analyse data to determine the significance of epidemiological variations in the rates of infections and the occurrence of infection outbreaks.Assist in the conduction of investigations into and managing interventions in the event of increased infection rates and outbreaks as appropriate.Act as a resource person for all areas to identify and resolve Infection Control problems and demonstrate the rationale and application of Infection Control Protocols and Procedures in conjunction with the Infection Control Coordinator.What you bring Current Registered Nurse with AHPRAPostgraduate qualification in Infection Control or similarRecent experience as an Infection Control Nurse is desirableDemonstrated interpersonal and leadership skillsThe ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholdersA desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisationBenefits This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of a leading mission-based health care organisation.
