The Industry Capability Network (ICN) Tasmanian is part of a national network of procurement and supply chain advisors who introduce businesses to projects across Australia and New Zealand.The Industry Capability Network Specialist is responsible for proactively liaising with a wide range of strategic internal and external partners and key stakeholders, with a view to increasing Tasmanian industry's participation in local, national, and global supply chains.

Period of Appointment Appointment to the role is on a fixed term flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight)f or 12 months.
Duties Proactively identify and assist Tasmanian businesses and project proponents to correctly register and maintain up to date records on the ICN database and work with them to utilise the ICN and maximise local content. Proactive identification, analysis and development of plans, projects and initiatives that underpin the delivery of the ICN Program in Tasmania and build local supply chains to assist to maximise local content in major projects. Deliver guidance to businesses on state and national sector growth trends, guiding pre-qualifying preparations, and assessing non-successful bids to create, proactively manage and influence the maximisation of their opportunities and competitiveness. This will include presentations and promotion to business and project proponents on the functions and advantages of the ICN. Prepare a diverse range of written documentation including correspondence, board papers submissions, ministerial briefings, reports and plans, and present material as required. Maintain a strong network with key stakeholders and work in partnership with other State Growth business units and other tiers of government to ensure the effective referral of clients to other assistance as required and implementation of new programs, processes, and management systems. This includes representing the Department of State Growth in the private and public sectors. Make a significant contribution to the effective achievement of trade development and investment attraction, in line with Tasmanian Government targets and Departmental strategies. Assisting to implement the Advanced Manufacturing Action Plan and Tasmanian Defence Strategy. Provide day to day guidance around activities and tasks to the ICN Project Officer.
