A job to be proud of: St John WA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Relations Specialist to join our Industrial Relations team.
This role is pivotal in managing and enhancing our industrial relations strategies, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and fostering positive relationships between the organisation and the employees.
This is a permanent full-time role based in our Belmont state office.
What you will do : Provide accurate and strategic guidance on industrial relations issues to managers, People Services, and employees, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
Manage and resolve disputes; both collective and individual, according to established policies and strategic objectives.
Lead respectful, outcomes-focused consultations between managers, employees, and unions to address industrial relations issues effectively.
Advise and influence managers and stakeholders to ensure consistent application of organisational standards and fair treatment.
Assist in the negotiation of industrial and employment arrangements by providing research, preparing documents, and maintaining agreements.
Represent St John WA in the Fair Work Commission and other external counsel as necessary to manage outcomes in the organisation's best interests.
Oversee internal investigations related to employee grievances, disputes, misconduct, or performance issues.
Coordinate the case management of employee matters to ensure compliance with industrial instruments, policies, and statutory provisions.
Develop and deliver training sessions and presentations to enhance the knowledge and skills of managers and employees regarding industrial relations.
What you'll need: Proven experience in industrial relations, case management, investigations, and negotiations.
Tertiary qualification in human resources management, industrial relations, law or a related field (desirable) Deep understanding of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations processes, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
An ability to form effective relationships and provide trusted advice to senior management.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in dealing with complex and sensitive employee relations issues.
