We are secretive about what we do, not what we value.The opportunityAs an Industrial Relations Specialist you will be responsible for managing and maintaining positive employee relations within ASIO. You would play a crucial role in promoting a harmonious work environment by addressing employee concerns, handling employment disputes and ensuring compliance with labour laws and government regulations. In this role you will work closely with HR teams and senior management to develop effective employee engagement strategies and foster a productive and motivated workforce.Role responsibilitiesAs an Industrial Relations Specialist in ASIO, you will:Provide accurate, timely and complex advice to staff and stakeholders using the Enterprise Agreement, and legislative and policy interpretation as applied to workplace issues.Monitor organisational change processes and provide advice to managers and employees to mitigate the risk of disputation and ensure compliance with organisational policies.Work closely with employee representatives to create and deliver people practices that develop and maintain positive working relationships between the Organisation and its people.Build productive relationships with external bodies, such as the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) and partner agencies on employment related matters.Assist in undertaking investigations regarding complaints lodged by employees.What you will bringWe invite applications from people with the following attributes:Strong knowledge of the relevant Australian Employment frameworks.Excellent time and resource management skills.Good organisational and leadership ability with strong interpersonal and mediation skills.Exceptional communication skills.The ability to investigate employee matters in relation to employee complaints or other disputations.Strong knowledge of, and experience in, general employment law and HR best practice.The ability to effectively prioritise requests while maintaining high standards and accuracy.What we offer youASIO provides a number of benefits to its staff including:A competitive salary, including a 7.5 per cent allowance for maintaining a TOP SECRET-Privileged Access security clearance.Employer superannuation contributions of 15.4 per cent.A variety of leave options, in addition to the standard 4 weeks annual leave to ensure your work-life balance.Flexible working arrangements to assist you to maintain your work-life balance.
