About the role We are looking for a new team member who is passionate about Industrial Relations to join our team!
The ideal candidate will:
have demonstrated experience in providing industrial relations advice;have effective communication and interpersonal skills;enjoy helping to build collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders;enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team.The Industrial Relations Branch strives to continuously improve the Department's industrial practices by:
enabling management to respond to workplace issues in compliance with relevant workplace laws and industrial instruments;responding to industrial disputes, including matters before relevant courts and tribunals;managing the Department's industrial instruments.The primary roles of the Industrial Relations Advisor are to:
provide advice to managers within the Department in relation to industrial matters;support other members of the Industrial Relations Team in relation to the negotiation of industrial agreements and resolution of industrial dispute matters.To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
You may be required from time-to-time to travel within Western Australia for operational purposes.
In addition, you will be required to visit correctional facilities (Prisons and Youth Detention Centres) as part of your role.
