On behalf of the company, we are currently seeking a skilled Industrial Engineer to optimize operations, enhance productivity, and support the equine and agricultural product supply chain.
This role requires expertise in analysing production systems, improving processes, and ensuring cost-effective and efficient operations aligned with commitment to quality and service.
Position Responsibilities and Tasks: Evaluate existing workflows for receiving, storing, and dispatching agricultural and equine products.
Develop strategies to streamline operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective order fulfillment.
Introduce lean methodologies to minimize waste in material handling and inventory management.
Redesign warehouse and factory layouts to maximize storage capacity and improve accessibility to high-demand products like grains, hay, and feed supplements.
Enhance packing and dispatch systems to reduce order turnaround times while maintaining product integrity.
Analyse and predict seasonal demand patterns, collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely procurement and minimal distruptions to stock availability.
Develop systems to track inventory quality, reducing spoilage and ensuring compliance with product standards.
Implement automation tools to enhance logistics tracking and introduce solutions for stock monitoring to improve inventory accuracy and real-time reporting.
Identify cost-saving opportunities across the procurement, storage, and distribution processes.
Conduct regular cost-benefit analyses for proposed operational changes and new technologies.
Establish and maintain rigorous quality control processes for handling animal feed and other agricultural products, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Work closely with warehouse staff and operations teams to align processes with business goals.
Provide training on new systems, workflows, and safety procedures to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in supply chain, manufacturing, or agricultural industries.
Expertise in lean management, supply chain software, and statistical tools.
Strong ability to design solutions tailored to a customer-focused supply chain.
Excellent ability to liaise across teams and clearly articulate operational improvements.
Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $73,000 - $90,000 p.a.
plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
