About the role As a Mid-Level Industrial Designer, you will collaborate with talented, multi-disciplinary teams to help drive the development of innovative small kitchen appliances, bringing our vision of culinary excellence to life. From concept to mass production, you'll be a key player in delivering creative solutions that reflect Breville's design direction philosophy, with an emphasis on innovation, quality, and consumer empathy.

Key Responsibilities Include: Leverage your design experience to make informed decisions that contribute to delivering impactful and successful projects.Own the project lifecycle: You will collaborate with your team to deliver a project from concept to production, ensuring that each phase is executed to the highest standards. This will include (but not limited to) concepting and prototyping, detailed design and CAD surfacing, Design for Manufacture (DFM), intellectual property (IP) considerations, and participation in all build reviews.Collaborate across diverse teams in a matrix organisational structure, balancing business needs and consumer insights.Work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to bring products from idea to reality.Ensure the products meet proposed schedules, cost targets, and reflect Breville's brand language.Lead research phases, empathizing with the consumer to protect the product's Single Moment of Brilliance (SMOB).Develop creative and strategic solutions with the potential to unlock value for Breville, collaborating with our IP team to navigate intellectual property opportunities.We're Interested in Hearing from People Who Have: Strong understanding of the product development process and principles, with demonstrated experience in taking products through various development stages.Demonstrated experience with Make, Test, Learn methodologies, using insights from each phase to inform decisions and drive projects forward.Clear communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate ideas professionally across teams and stakeholders.Passion for identifying opportunities and creating innovative solutions, particularly within the kitchen appliance space.Ability to work with form development sympathetic to Breville's brand values and design philosophy.Experience in collaborating with suppliers and external stakeholders to ensure project success.Key Requirements: Bachelor of Industrial Design, Industrial Product Engineering or other equivalent accreditation.A minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience.Strong CAD skills - demonstrated proficiency in Surface Modelling & in the management of large, complex Assemblies.Ability to work independently and in a close-knit team towards common goals.If you're looking for an opportunity to apply your industrial design expertise while working in an environment where food innovation meets function, this could be the perfect role for you!
