About the role Industrial Designers are responsible for driving the development of innovative products that strive for excellence in Breville's Global Product department (GP). Industrial Designers will work in collaboration with multi-disciplinary product development teams for globally oriented small domestic kitchen appliances throughout all phases of the Product Development Process from concept development through to mass production. The role requires a strong and demonstrated understanding of product development principles and skills, coupled with an ability to clearly and professionally communicate and collaborate with stakeholders both within Breville, as well as outside of Breville. Key responsibilities include: Seeking-out and considering different points of view, business values, and needs to effectively build arguments and negotiate across parties. Clearly and professionally communicate and collaborate with members of multi-disciplinary teams and other stakeholders within Breville's matrix organisational structure to successfully develop and launch projects. Clearly and professionally communicate and collaborate with stakeholders outside of Breville (suppliers etc.) to successfully develop and launch projects. Develop products in terms of proposed schedules. Develop products in terms of proposed cost targets. Identify and delegate work to other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Contribute to project research phases pertaining to managing aspects of required activities. Empathise with target consumers to protect the product vision. Contribute to appropriate product/component detailing during the development and industrialisation phases of product development. Develop forms sympathetic to Breville's brand language and in line with Breville's Design Direction Philosophy. Develop novel solutions and recognise opportunities with strategic value to Breville and work with the IP team to navigate the IP landscape. Inspire and influence others to do their best work in terms of serendipitous or more formal mentoring opportunities. We're Interested in Hearing from People Who Have: Bachelor of Industrial Design, Industrial Product Engineering or other equivalent accreditation. A minimum of three (3) years of relevant industry experience. Great visual and verbal communication skills. Strong CAD skills – demonstrated proficiency in Surface Modelling & in the management of large, complex Assemblies. A hands-on approach to problem-solving. Proven experience working with a wide range of materials and processes. High level of professionalism, integrity, and a passion for fostering a positive learning environment.
