IPC Granite are looking for experienced Industrial Designers to join our team within our Head office located in Lonsdale SA.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for all in-house Industrial Design plans, design, develop and document industrial, commercial or consumer products for manufacture with particular emphasis on ergonomic (human) factors, marketing considerations and manufacturability, and prepare designs and specifications of products for mass or batch production through to CNC programming, where the expectation of performance, quality and customer service are met.
About You Industrial DesignThe role requires you to have outstanding skills in all aspects of Industrial design coupled with CNC programming using AutoCad.
You would need to be currently working in the trade and be able to undertake a high standard of detail and accuracy.
Formulate design concepts for industrial, commercial and consumer productsPrepare designs, sketches, diagrams, illustrations, plans, samples and models to communicate design concepts to manufacturing teamNegotiate design solutions with clients, management, sales and manufacturing staffSelect, specify and recommend functional and aesthetic materials, production methods and finishes for manufactureDetail and document the selected design for productionEstimate manufacturing limits and time frames to provide a continual work flowUndertake product research and analyze functional, commercial, cultural and aesthetic requirementsPrepare and commission prototypes and samplesSupervise the preparation of patterns, programs and tooling, and the manufactureDetermine the objectives and constraints of the design brief by consulting with clients and stakeholdersA hands-on attitude, strong problem solving skills and the ability to work autonomouslyA strong commitment to health and safety and the ability to secure a White CardBe well presented as you will be attending client homesHave the ability and demonstrate a common sense approach to large projects.Specifically, you must possess the following skills:Must have a bachelor's degree in a related field or 5 years of work experience as an industrial designer.Assess job plan and potential issues that may need to be rectifiedMeasure and allow for necessary clearances and tolerancesSelect stone for suitability and inspect for defectsDraft design patterns and templatesExperienced and skilled in AutoCad and designAt least 3 years experience in CNC programmingBe willing to learn new skills, with the right attitudeStone InstallerHave a minimum of 2 years experience.Provide evidence of experience.Ability to work with natural and artificial stone.Capable of polishing stoneRead plans and specificationsStack and handle stone of various sizes in a safe manner.Liaise with customers during installation and answer trade specific questions.Be able to lead a team of workers and take charge.Flexible in working hours during peak seasonsPlease send a cover letter along with your resume addressing the above requirements to ******
